I suggest you ...

Allow adult sites to be sold

Flippa should be a neutral marketplace and shouldn't distinguish between sites for sale on the basis of content.

To the poster below I just checked ebay a good 10 pages and found 4 adult sites 3 of them erotic clothing sites so stop talking rubbish.

I think Flippa should allow them but there should be a check box to declare its an adult site which then gets reviewed by flippa to make sure there is no child porn or anything like that distributed.

Also perhaps flippa search could have a NSFW check box to filter them out which would be checked by the website seller.

That way you would only get people interested in purchasing these types of sites looking for them.

I think Flippa should do a test run for 3 months see how it goes if they need to pull the plug then so be it.

If porn sites were allowed to be sold on flippa there will be an overwhelming flooding of porn sites. Just go to ebay and type websites for sale, all you will see are porn sites. My point is that if ebay is being over flooded with porn sites, the same thing will happen to flippa

Indeed Allow all sites , This is business and in trade of sites , , Flippa should be a neutral marketplace and shouldn't distinguish between sites for sale on the basis of content.

They are not going to allow adult sites to be sold on flippa. Good news is, there is a version of flippa just for adult sites and domains called http://bow.to

I agree. It must be in another category and all users must agree to the new terms before they can see any of the porn sites. And for parents who complain about their kids seeing it, it is your responsibility to teach your kids, not Flippa's responsibility to try and hide it from kids. The internet is full of it and the sooner your kids know about what is wrong and what is right, the better for you. You cannot keep them away from it.

I don't agree with adult sites on Flippa. PORN have their own world, not here on Flippa. I'm sure that 80% internet marketers & Flippers won't agree with this and 100% religious people also not agree with this.

It's not clear to me what "adult sites" actually means . I have a number of sites that I'd like to sell which are adult themed but are definitely not explicitly pornographic. They are educational and cater for a mature audience but are not offensive (unless you're delicate and easily offended!). There is no black or white here, only shades of grey. FWIW I think "adult sites" should be allowed but perhaps they should be in a separate area to protect the "wilting flowers" amongst us.

Idea is cool, but I would prefer it even under a different domain name.
like adbrite has maintained two different domains.

I wouldn't be selling anything here, if it were flooded with porn. And you can be damned well sure it would be FLOODED if it were allowed at all.

JHULK has it perfect. Porn makes money, I love porn, I am a guy. YouPorn.Com is awesome. But for a money making site, PORN! and SEX the #1 money maker on the internet and always will be for Men and Women.

Why not simply give them their own page that does not show up in regular marketplace feeds (for those who are not interested or who are offended)?

Yes it would be great if all sites were represented equally, Of course they should be listed in a seperate category, but once again...children shouldnt be on here buying sites... so whats the worry

        JD,

In fact, I started this UserVoice by copying across the top few items from the SitePoint Marketplace UserVoice - working on the theory that contentious issues on the Marketplace would continue to be contentious on Flippa. This was one of them so it got created very early in the process.

Well, since Dave Slutzin started this written that way, "Allow adult sites to be sold" as one of his very first posts, it appears that he wants support for it.

If it happens, I just hope that it is very well separated from the other auctions as I teach my daughter this business. Some of those domain names are pretty raunchy. I think it needs more than just another tab... IMO.

Maybe they can a separate login for it....something more than just a filter.
